OCTOBER 2026
well well well
unfortunately the uk make internet radios a huge difficulty
expensive licenses (starting at £600-700) to play commercial music
restricted reach, only able to broadcast to uk listeners and potentially north america (with even more costs attached)
therefore unfortunately killstreak ended before it began
i was originally going to ignore licenses and just get a radio going
but it looks more and more likely this would be a legal mess
artists should get paid. i agree.
but licenses should be proportionate to the scale of the radio
i would be paying over £1000 a year whether i had 2 listeners, or 1,000 listeners
it's just not a price i can justify
it's not all bad though... the good news:
we have mutated into something more niche
an immersive radio, focusing on jungle, breakcore and modern alternative electronic
you can find the new project at rainstation.net
we're building the music rotation on rainstation with music that has been shared with us or approved directly by the artists, we are still accepting submissions on soundcloud
end of signal.
